From what I have learnt this lesson, i can now tell the difference from a cut away, a match cut and a jump cut. I have analysed the movie trailer ' man of steel' and can tell what happens where and how often it happened. I have tried to input as many as I could find.
Jump cuts - start of with a jump cut from the fire/air to standing in the middle
Match cut- shows pencil to writing
jump cut- running and then hiding head in hands
jump cut- crying as a boy to standing as a man zoom on face
cut away- to the bus and the stop sign then the water and then people banging on the bus window
jump cut- to sitting on the car to bus driving past, back to sitting on the car and talking.
match cut- the superman logo to the cape and then walking of
cut away- when shown walking with he cape on
cut away- shows face then hand as a fist then moving into the air
six jump cuts- six fast jump cuts in one go
jump cuts- more jump cuts to finish of with
match cut- at the end when the female and male look at each other then the subject moves onto their hands holding.
