Research and planning - Codes and conventions of a poster

  • Title - The title is standing out, as it is in white and bold from the rest of the text on the poster.
  • A description of the character is above the title to give us an insight of the film, and it gives us the name of the character and the colour is also white but not as bold as the title, so the audience can have an idea of what the film is about, its almost a quote about the film.

  • Name of the director/producer
  • realise date
  • Names of the actors, which could draw attention to the audience, if they like the certain actor it could draw attention to them to watch the film.
  • The photograph of the character is, showing the character being dragged by something which has unusual hands, this links with the title 'drag me to hell' as hands are used to drag her to hell. Fire is also used which emphasises the 'hell' making it look bad and hurtful towards the character.
  • Lighting- The lighting in this is low key, which implies horror and makes the audience feel scared and makes everything jumpy.
